Having trouble finding the perfect color scheme for your sidebar gadgets?
Simple Calendar allows you to do just that with this free calendar gadget. This side bar gadget will display a simple calendar with the current date.
You don’t need a background image or an image frame. The calendar just automatically displays the current date and you can change the size of the date and font sizes as you like.
The calendar background color will be the same color as the sidebar background. You can easily change it to the color you like by clicking the small button on the top of the gadget. Clicking the button will change the color of the sidebar, and then the color of the gadget as well.
If you don’t like the current color, then you can easily change it by clicking the small button on the top of the gadget. Clicking the button will change the color of the side bar, and then the color of the gadget as well.
This widget is really the simplest and easiest side bar gadget you can get, since it doesn’t require you to modify it (and customize) as many other gadgets.
You can change the size of the font and the date font color. When you click the button, the date font will change to dark (same as the sidebar background).
You can also change the font colors of the dates, as well as the day names. To select the color for the day names, change their color to the light color. The night and the day title will be the same color as the previous day and the next day.
The background color for the calendar remains the same as the sidebar background.
Date display is in a 12-hour format (see the “Quick Help” box below for more information).
What does this sidebar gadget do?
This widget just displays a single date, from the currently selected calendar.
When you select a different calendar, the days of the previous calendar will appear on the sidebar, as you can see in the screenshots.
The current date can be easily copied into Word, Excel or other programs.
The “Quick Help” box explains how you can customize the “Simple Calendar” gadget.
You can add other sidebar gadgets to the widget, if you like. To add a second gadget, just drag the gadget from the box to the right side of the date box.

The calendar displays only the days of the week. When you hover your mouse on any day, the day’s number will appear and a drop down menu will appear with a few basic options:

The red dot icon: links to a webpage with more information about that day. The dots represent the number of days since the last day of a month.

The blue dot icon: links to a webpage with more information about that day.
