The game takes place in the Lands Between, a world that is part of the Elden Ring, a legendary planet named Eldia, where humanity has spread after conquering the entire planet.
The expansion story for the new fantasy action RPG, Elden Ring: Dark Savant – Forsaken Knight, is a prequel set before the events in the main game. It takes place in the Elden Ring a few years before the events of Elden Ring, and begins as Gwyndolin, after going through difficult times in her life, is entrusted with the Guardian Lantern and the Tower of Mordent by a deity she barely meets, to become a guardian to protect the Lands Between.
The expansion story ends about four years before the events of the main game, at the point where Gwyndolin and the Guardian Lantern are entrusted with the Tower of Mordent. As the Tower of Mordent has been still unexplained up to this point, a new unknown monster who calls itself “Greyshadow” and the mysterious blacksmith Jarnog have returned, and a mysterious person who calls himself “Forsaken Knight” is still looking for the Tower.
Players will be able to play an easy RPG story mode, from the main game, and a hard RPG mode that will allow players to change the difficulty. As in the main game, players will be able to combine the weapons, armor, and magic that they equip in order to develop their character according to the play style they want to achieve.
