Leveling up your characters to higher levels eventually unlocks abilities to allow for a much deeper experience. These abilities are called Dungeoneering. This is a mechanic that allows players to explore deep dungeons and other less accessible places and find new and perhaps more rewarding items.
These items include both permanent ones, such as increasing your amount of HP, and time limited ones that can be used once you’ve found them.
As you continue on you eventually will unlock more abilities and items. Each character has their own class that determines what they’re capable of. For example, some characters can use only melee weapons, others can use bows, others can use ranged weapons and so on.
Even though it looks like you can just fight against as many enemies as you want and use powerful skills over and over, enemies will have stamina and if they’re attacked enough they will drop HP. This means that you won’t be able to fight against so many enemies at once but you can still take them out one by one.
This only applies when you’re not in battle so you can explore the
