Equipped with the right applications, a computer can be of great help in virtually any domain of activity. When it comes to designing and precision, no other tool is as accurate as a computer. Moreover, specialized applications such as AutoCAD give you the possibility to design nearly anything ranging from art, to complex mechanical parts or even buildings.
Suitable for business environments and experienced users
After a decent amount of time spent installing the application on your system, you are ready to fire it up. Thanks to the office suite like interface, all of its features are cleverly organized in categories. At a first look, it looks easy enough to use, but the abundance of features it comes equipped with leaves room for second thoughts.
Create 2D and 3D objects
You can make use of basic geometrical shapes to define your objects, as well as draw custom ones. Needless to say that you can take advantage of a multitude of tools that aim to enhance precision. A grid can be enabled so that you can easily snap elements, as well as adding anchor points to fully customize shapes.
With a little imagination and patience on your behalf, nearly anything can be achieved. Available tools allow you to create 3D objects from scratch and have them fully enhanced with high-quality textures. A powerful navigation pane is put at your disposal so that you can carefully position the camera to get a clearer view of the area of interest.
Various export possibilities
Similar to a modern web browser, each project is displayed in its own tab. This comes in handy, especially for comparison views. Moreover, layouts and layers also play important roles, as it makes objects handling a little easier.
Sine the application is not the easiest to carry around, requiring a slightly sophisticated machine to properly run, there are several export options put at your disposal so that the projects itself can be moved around.
Aside from the application specific format, you can save as an image file of multiple types, PDF, FBX and a few more. Additionally, it can be sent via email, directly printed out on a sheet of paper, or even sent to a 3D printing service, if available.
To end with
All in all, AutoCAD remains one of the top applications used by professionals to achieve great precision with projects of nearly any type. It encourages usage with incredible offers for student licenses so you get acquainted with its abundance of features early on. A lot can be said about what it can and can't do, but the true surprise lies in discovering it step-by-step.

AutoCAD has evolved from the original 1982 version that was a purely 2D program into a 3D program in the late 1980s. It is marketed as a professional product as well as for hobbyist and amateurs, with additional software and training materials that adapt it for different uses.
The flagship version of AutoCAD is the current 2016 release. This version offers support for both Windows and Linux and includes a suite of AutoCAD Pro software components.
AutoCAD was founded in 1979 by John Walker, then vice president of marketing at Autodesk, as an attempt to modernize the company’s drafting software.
AutoCAD was first introduced in 1982. Prior to the release of AutoCAD, drafting software for PC’s was priced out of the reach of most small businesses and home users. AutoCAD’s price and the accompanying training materials and support services that accompanied it were advertised as the solution to that problem. Autodesk marketed AutoCAD as “an affordable, easy-to-use CAD system” for engineers, architects, designers, and students.
The initial AutoCAD program included features such as multi-page, automatic 2D and 3D views, drawings that could be easily manipulated by drawing tools, shape copying, exploded views, and many others. The initial AutoCAD was released for MS-DOS, and most of the first systems sold were custom made to run AutoCAD.
In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Autodesk released two major revisions of AutoCAD. Both allowed for true 3D CAD, and introduced a number of features.
In 1994, AutoCAD introduced the first true 3D cad. The 3D modeling of the original release was based on parametric modeling, which was introduced with AutoCAD in 1992. Parametric modeling is based on x, y, and z coordinates, with the ability to place objects in 3-D space with the ability to deform them based on those coordinates. The parametric modeling also allowed for complex geometric shapes to be built using a set of Boolean operations called “segments” (surfaces between two points) and “faces” (surfaces between two parallel planes).
In 1995, AutoCAD introduced curves (bezier curves) as the basis for 3D modeling. The ability to

AutoCAD R19 and newer support import/export of DWG/DXF drawings to/from other CAD software.
R19 introduced the Advanced Content Pipeline (ACP). ACP enables the importing of content from other software packages into DWG and DXF. It also provides support for internal content and general functions. For more information about content, refer to the AutoCAD R19 topic, and for more information about ACP, refer to the DWG & DXF topic.

Autodesk received the Australian Category Manager of the Year Award in 2015. The Australian Category Manager of the Year Award is the largest individual software award in Australia, run by the Software and Information Industry Association of Australia (SIIA). The award, run by SIIA, is the most prestigious award given by SIIA to the individual that has made the most positive contribution to the industry.
AutoCAD R19 has a module called “Core Technology” (CT) that allows developers to create plug-ins for AutoCAD. CT has some other new features as well. As of release R19, AutoCAD’s plug-in architecture has been rewritten in C++. Since AutoCAD is now C++ based, the module architecture is now controlled by a new component called the Application Component Manager (ACOM). In addition, all parts of the component model are now virtual. This means that all components can be instantiated (created) during run-time.
The new ACE (Autodesk Content eXchange) framework is an infrastructure to support content management and delivery. ACE will enable consumers to easily find and share content, such as data, models, and drawing files.
The AutoCAD Architecture plugin will provide the capability to view, edit, organize and manage 3D models that are created or imported from other software programs. It is also planned to add many more capabilities to 3D modeling and painting.
AutoCAD Architecture allows the import and export of these 3D models to other CAD packages.

AutoCAD Architecture is a brand new plugin architecture for AutoCAD. AutoCAD Architecture is a graphical user interface that provides users with the ability to edit and create these 3D models and view them in the context of a drawing. These models can be created using the new 3D Modeling tool, which was

On the menu bar, choose file | Import.
In the Import section, import the file you received from the key-generator.
Then you will be prompted to choose the output layer. In my case, I choose ‘ASCII’ because it is an ASCII file.
When you are done choosing, just click finish, and it will open the output file.
Before I continue, let me explain what this file is supposed to be and what it does:
The file you received is called “_H_D”. It is a a list of the data for the geometry of the file and what each line is. Each line looks like this:
|—- | —– | —– | —– | —– | —|
This means that the line is the top line (after the vertical bar).
Then there is a ‘*’ at the start of the line, followed by the data that is the next line (shown in white).
Then there is a vertical bar (|) that separates the next line from the data.
So the data starts here:
|—- | —–|
Then the data starts here:
|—– | —–|
The data should be this:
What’s New in the AutoCAD?
Project-based undo: When you make a change, you don’t want to undo it if you need to make a change later in your drawing. So, you can undo only the last change you made to the drawing, but only at the time you made that change. To do this, enable AutoCAD’s project-based undo feature.
Incorporate into a drawing template: When you are creating a template to reuse often, you need to make any changes in the template you want the new drawings to inherit. This process of incorporating a template is called “importing” the template into a drawing.
Bugs fixed in AutoCAD 2023:
The issue that can cause the screen to be blank after the engine finishes starting. (this was a known issue in AutoCAD)
