The evolution of AutoCAD from the very beginning is a story of fierce competition between major CAD software vendors.
Like many other computer-based products, AutoCAD first appeared as a separate product at a time when the company most involved in the development of CAD software, and the company that eventually dominated the market, was Unigraphics, which was founded in 1971 by Frederick Wong and William Deutch.
The computer-aided drawing (CAD) market was small at the time. Prior to the advent of AutoCAD, most CAD systems ran on mainframe computers or minicomputers and each operator (user) worked at a separate graphics terminal. A fairly standard practice was to color print line drawings at a proofer.
While Autodesk was a competitor and carried some of the same products in its portfolio as Unigraphics, it was really born when Autodesk acquired Unigraphics’s CAD division in 1982.
In 1985, Autodesk purchased a CAD group within the Computer Measurement Group (CMG) that was in the process of developing a complete CAD system. This was a strategic move, as the CMG had been bought by a big company named Honeywell. Since its acquisition by Honeywell, the CMG had been planning a unified CAD system, but all that changed after Autodesk acquired the group.
In 1986, Autodesk introduced the first release of its AutoCAD system. The company did this in an environment of intense competition. This was a major change for Autodesk, which for the first time marketed a new desktop product with a projected five-year sales life.
With the introduction of AutoCAD, it made sense for Autodesk to acquire another competitor in the CAD space named MicroStation. MicroStation had been developed in the 1970s by a company called International Business Machines (IBM). MicroStation was an IBM proprietary development platform.
While the move looked like a great deal for Autodesk, it came with a high price tag. In 1987, Autodesk was paid $167 million for the acquisition of MicroStation.
In 1988, with AutoCAD 3.0, Autodesk created a new

AutoCAD for designers
AutoCAD for designers is designed for architects, interior designers, and designers of graphic design. As of release 2011, it’s officially a subset of AutoCAD LT, but still lets users draw 2D and 3D layouts as well as produce DWG/DXF files, the drawing format of AutoCAD. AutoCAD for designers includes a feature called Essentials that provides users with a basic, easy-to-use application that provides the core features needed to complete a simple design project. Essentials also offers 2D and 3D annotations, a range of 2D and 3D drafting tools, such as line, circle, polyline, polygon, spline, edge, freeform, and polyline constraints, a features library, and various 2D and 3D dimensions and 3D conics. The design software can be used either interactively or non-interactively.
AutoCAD is a widely used drafting, design, and CAD software that was originally developed by AutoDesk. In 1995 the company changed its name to Autodesk when Autodesk Inc. was formed.
According to Autodesk, AutoCAD “is a revolutionary new software product from Autodesk that enables users to design and draft in 3-D like never before. It’s the first software that makes it easy to create and edit 2-D and 3-D drawings and models. Using AutoCAD, you can make 3-D designs without ever leaving the 2-D drafting canvas.”
AutoCAD on X-Plane
AutoCAD on X-Plane is a free, open source, AutoCAD plugin that runs on the X-Plane flight simulator. It can be used to draw, make annotations, and convert 2D drawings into 3D drawings. It’s a popular tool for people interested in architecture, interior design and engineering.
AutoCAD on X-Plane was originally written in 2003 by Thomas O’Farrell, an engineer at Fujitsu and a licensed AutoCAD user. He later developed a “printer-friendly” version of AutoCAD on X-Plane, using a widget-based interface and a set of specifications for the widget that could be used to automatically generate a AutoCAD document.

Open the Autocad software and go to File -> Open.
Select the C:\YourAutocad\programs\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2008\Acad 2008\Acad 2008\acad.exe
The Default option will open with Acad 2008 and you can now close it.
Open the GenerateKey.exe file and make sure that the Autocad icon is highlighted.
In the GenerateKey.exe, the help icon should be highlighted.
On the GenerateKey.exe, press the enter key.
A dialog box should open asking you to enter the following fields:
Worst case scenario:
In the key generator, if you don’t want to change the current directory of the program (in this case: the Autocad software folder) you can simply use the following command in order to copy the file generated by the Autocad application directly into the Autocad software folder.
If you want to change the directory of the current one, you can enter the following command:
If you want to copy the file to a different folder, you can enter the following command:
A network of tunnels is buried under this lake and they’re
exactly where the land can rise and fall to match the lake.
That’s an area where a really high concentration of
ice-wedge particles can be deposited. In fact, ice-wedge
particles are responsible for the formation of many of
these deep-lake amphitheaters.
Several things happen in the wake of the sublimation of
an ice-wedge particle. The first thing is, as the ice
particle is melted, the water vapor expands into the
surrounding air, and the expansion is very much
isothermal – the temperature doesn’t change much. This
is the phenomenon that causes the steam clouds that are
seen, often at night, around the cairn areas. There’s a
second effect that occurs as the water vapor condenses
back to liquid water – this condensation takes heat away
from the surrounding air, which is why the lake water is
often chilled after a warm summer day. The second effect
also causes waves, which can be detected in terms of
significant vertical motion of the water in the lake.
All of these ice-wedge-induced processes are
predictable and can be calculated. Given the density of
